Developing Leaders

A suite of accredited programmes aimed at inspiring, enhancing and engaging leadership skills in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Developing Leaders aims to coach, mentor, engage and support the enhancement of leadership skills at all levels.

Whether you’re an established professional looking to utilise your skill set to work effectively with other businesses, or you’re new to the world of leadership, these programmes cover all areas of development.

These programmes are up to 80% funded through the European Social Fund (ESF) for public and private sector businesses with less than 250 employees across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Support offered on the programmes includes:

  • Highly reflective sessions
  • Information, advice and guidance on career progression.

Funding criteria:

Funding is available for those employed in private and public sectors across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, as well as specific opportunities for women in business to work together.

Leadership Toolkit (4 different 2-day bite size courses)

Introduction to Leadership with Project Management

Introduction to Leadership with Marketing Principles

Introduction to Leadership with Communication Skills

Introduction to Leadership with Finance Principles

Leading to a CMI Award level 2 in Team Leading – £50 per person subject to funding eligibility

Leading a Team Award Level 2 CMI

 Cost: £120* (Full price £600)

This course focuses on the leadership of people to enhance effectiveness.

Mentoring as a Leader Award Level 2 ILM

Cost: £120* (Full price £600)

This course will develop the skills to support leaders required to mentor others or apprentices in the workplace.

Leadership Essentials Award Level 3 CMI

Cost: £150* (Full price £750)

This course will equip individuals with new leadership skills, personal psychometric profile and one-to-one coaching.

Effective Coaching Award Level 3 ILM

Cost: £250* (Full price £595)

This programme is ideal for leaders who would like develop their own skills and effectively use coaching as part of their day-to-day role working with their teams.

Leading with Integrity Award Level 5 CMI

Cost: £595* (Full price £2,500)

This course runs over 7 days and offers great networking opportunities, guest speakers, one-to-one leadership coaching, peer-to-peer feedback and personal psychometric profile.

Effective Coaching and Mentoring Certificate Level 5 ILM

Cost: £450* (Full price £1250)

This programme is ideal for leaders with responsibility for coaching and mentoring as part of their day-to-day role working with employees and colleagues and those who wish to develop these skills to use more effectively with their teams.

Strategic Leaders Learning Community

Cost: £895* (Full price £4,500)

This course offers leaders and emerging leaders a three-day intensive leadership residential workshop with delegates not only receiving direct feedback on their leadership skills and performance, but also taking time to share common aims, goals and purpose of their business within the county. In addition, they will complete personal psychometric profiles focused on strengths and communication and hear from relevant guest speakers.

The project is receiving up to £1.5m of funding from the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England.
