This is a practical course for those with little or no previous tractor and machine handling experience and on successful completion you will achieve an NPTC Level 2 Award in Tractor Driving and Handling.

Please note – This course does not licence those who pass to drive on the Highway.

Safe handling techniques of tractor and equipment
Daily maintenance checks
Brakes and braking
Hitching and unhitching trailed equipment
Manoeuvring with and without trailers
Hitching and unhitching mounted and PTO equipment
Operating hydraulics and use of fore-end loaders.

This course will enhance understanding, and enable successful students to legally spray their own land, or that of their employer, using Boom Mounted Sprayers. The first day will consist of the PA1 theory training, with an online test in the afternoon. This covers the storage, handling and application of pesticides. The second day is the PA2 Boom Mounted Sprayer training; with an allocated timeslot on the third day to take the PA2 assessment. The qualification to be gained is a Level 2 City & Guilds lifetime-qualification. The following PPE will be needed for the training. This course is suitable for Farmers and Growers, or anyone that uses a Boom Sprayer as part of their work or employment. The course will enhance your understanding of the subject, and enable you to legally spray your own land or that of your employer. This course consists of one day of training, mainly classroom based and takes the form of a powerpoint presentation which covers PA1. There will also be a practical demonstration of PA2. You will then have an on farm assessment to enable you to gain the required City and Guilds/NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides.
