This course is for anyone in a work environment as it raises learners’ awareness of the concept of risk assessment.

The Principles of Risk Assessment Award Level 2 was created in response to industry requirements for all employees to be aware of risks. Although not all employees will be expected to undertake risk assessments themselves, they may be asked to contribute to the process and will be expected to protect their own health and safety and that of others.

  What You Will Learn

This course is run over one day and covers the following modules:

Contribution both to the maintenance of a safe work environment and to the process of formal risk assessment
The legal requirements for risk assessment
The principles of risk assessment including hazards, risks and control measures, 5 steps of risk assessment, the hierarchy of control and risk assessment, review and record keeping

It is run as an interactive workshop, which includes tutor lead sessions, group work exercises and general classroom discussions.


You will be assessed by 30 multiple choice question paper.

This course provides senior buyers, contract and supply chain managers with the expertise to improve organisational procurement and to fulfil organisational objectives. This course will give you the knowledge base to reduce cost, improve quality and timescales, manage the supply chain and deal with legal issues.
