Supporting Teaching And Learning

Primary school teacher in a classroom of children The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning has been designed to provide you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments.

This course covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.

What you will learn

You will work towards nationally recognized qualifications and will attend a weekly class at one of our campuses.

Your taught lessons will cover key aspects of the role of supporting teaching and learning in schools including health and safety, child protection and professional development.

Entry requirements

To be educated to GCSE level and have good communication skills. You should already be working/volunteering or about to start working as a teaching assistant or a member of the support staff in a school.

Progression

Work in a school as a teaching assistant or similar role supporting teaching and learning. You can also progress to the Level 3 Certificate/Diploma for Supporting Teaching and Learning.
