New agricultural management apprenticeship for Devon

A college in Devon is launching an apprenticeship aimed at those wanting a career in agricultural business management.

Bicton College and Duchy College have revealed details of the Level 4 Agricultural Business Management apprenticeship, which will be delivered at Bicton College from September, alongside the successful delivery from The Business Space at Launceston.

Region’s top companies compete in inaugural Apprenticeship Games

Pendennis has secured its place in the history books by winning the inaugural Apprenticeship Games.

Held last Wednesday at Cornwall College St Austell, businesses and organisations with apprentices battled it out in a range of events that tested their mental, physical and creative skills.

Each team took turns at a gaming challenge on a PS4, a University Challenge-style quiz round with mascots and buzzers, a cake decorating challenge, a rowing and cycling stage, a blindfold team-building challenge and a task involving getting tyres across a room without touching the floor.

South West bucking apprenticeship trends

The region’s largest apprenticeship provider is helping the South West buck the national trend for apprenticeship take-up.

Demonstrating the ever-increasing popularity of the apprenticeship pathway into employment in Devon and Cornwall, CCB Training, part of The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), has noted more than 1200 new apprentices starts from September 2017 to-date.
